Sheltered from the elements in a long valley in the heart of the Waterberg Mountains is Waterberg Wilderness Lodge. With a simple, country house feel to it, this property appeals to visitors who want to relax and enjoy friendly, laid back service in a tranquil environment. Eight double and four family rooms make up the accommodation here, each with a separate seating area, small veranda and ensuite bathrooms. The main part of the lodge has a lovely bar and restaurant complete with a welcoming fireplace, as well as a quaint tea garden which makes for a wonderful place to spend the afternoon. The swimming pool is set amidst verdant lawns and there is always a member of staff on hand to serve drinks to guests relaxing and lounging. A variety of activities can be experienced on the Waterberg Wilderness Reserve including a plateau hike, rhino tracking trip, sundowner excursions, game drives, nature trails and history tours. On certain days of the week, trips to a nearby Herero village can also be arranged for guests wishing to add a cultural element to their stay.
