Kwihala Camp, Ruaha National Park

Offering a distinct nod to safaris of a bygone era, Kwihala is a wonderfully traditional camp tucked away in a remote, game-rich corner of the Ruaha National Park and is an ideal retreat for safari enthusiasts. The six tents are tucked away within the trees around the main mess area of the camp and all offer ample space with comfortable beds, writing desks and fully functional en-suite bathrooms. The small covered terraces found at the front are a lovely place to relax. Thick canvas sides help keep the tents warm at night and mosquito net covered windows allow a cooling breeze to flow through in the day. The main area of the lodge is made up of a lovely open-plan dining room, lounge and bar and staff are always on hand to serve drinks and chat about life. Meals are enjoyed on a communal basis although private dining can be arranged upon request. Kwihala is open from June until March and offers guests a variety of activities including day and nighttime game drives and guided walks. The focus here is on the guiding, and the experienced team will help you to get the most out of your time in the bush.
