Our rating: Premium | Property style: Lodge

From an elevated, hilltop position overlooking Drake Bay, La Paloma Lodge benefits from the breeze which cools the whole property. With standard rooms and more spacious, split-level bungalows with superb views (also ideal for families), the lodge has an intimate, personal feel to it and the owners are on hand to take special care of their guests. There is a good dive shop and training facilities for those with little or no experience. The swimming pool and restaurant areas are perched on the hill with excellent views of the bay and the forest which surrounds the lodge. The lodge includes a full day tour with guide to Corcovado National Park and a full day excursion to Caño Island. Other activities (payable locally) include horse riding, hiking and scuba diving. The lodge is set on a steep hill so guests must be able to walk uphill, a tractor is used for transporting guests and luggage on arrival and departure.
